Chi Kung Meditation (Taoist Yoga)
|
|
Chi Kung Meditation
incorporates movement into the meditative state. In the east
it's used as the ultimate exercise for healing the body as
well as attaining high levels of physical ability. By
synchronizing the
breath with slow, graceful movements this physical art builds
maximum strength in a very short period of time. In
addition, Chi Kung practice
reduces stress, harmonizes the emotions and relieves anxiety.
There is no form to learn like in Tai Chi. Just come and
follow!

Simplified
Tai Chi I (10-Movement)
|
|
This Tai
Chi form was developed about 12 years ago by a Chinese
professor as an easy-to-learn form that would increase
physical stability in seniors. Composed of classical
Yang-style movements, this form takes 3-5 minutes to
perform. Each class begins with Chi Kung movements to
relax and prepare the body for Tai Chi. (Note:
Yang-style Tai Chi is often called “Meditation in Motion”
because of the slow execution of the movements. It's
considered a weight-bearing exercise that does not require
fitness, yet develops fitness very rapidly.)

Simplified Tai Chi (10-Movement) Video
This video includes: Chi Kung warm-ups, the 10-Movement Tai
Chi form, and Tai Chi instruction. The Tai Chi instruction
is the last 30 minutes and is divided into five specific
sections. (1 hr 30 min) Cost $35.

5-Elements Meditation |
|
|
This class
focuses on guided visualizations that release toxic
emotional imbalances. Based on the Water School's Five
Elements model, the visuals connect the five elements to the
primary internal organs and their associated colors,
seasons, directions and emotions. Using a relaxed seated or
reclining posture, you are guided through these cleansing and
fortifying visuals. Some lecture at the beginning of
class.

|
Simplified Tai Chi
II (24-Movement) - Prerequisite Tai Chi I
|
|
This form was developed in the early 1960s by a group of
noted Tai Chi practitioners. This is a common form
among Tai Chi players, using classical Yang-style movements
and taking 10-12 minutes to perform. Class begins with
various Chi Kung practices designed to prepare the body for
the more demanding movements of this form. There will be a
strong focus on Tai Chi stepping and dan tien development
(abdominal / kidney area). This work will embody the concept
that “all moves come from center.” Some focus on
independent work.

Tai Chi Long Form
(108 Movement) -
Prerequisite Tai Chi II
|
|
This form dates back to the early 1900s from Yang Cheng-fu,
with the lineage coming through Cheng Man Ching, TT Liang,
and Tao Shih Pei Wo Lun. The form is divided into three
sections with each section increasing in length and demand
and takes 20-30 minutes to perform. Deeper relaxation,
agility, and balance are developed through more complex
movements and an increased focus on independent work. |
Tai Chi Sword
(58-Movement Wu Sir Ba Sword) - Prerequisite Simplified Tai
Chi II
|
|
Class
begins with Magic Sword Chi Kung. Continued work on
movements originating from the dan tien (center), building
on Tai Chi stepping techniques learned in Tai Chi II, and
adding wrist articulation. “As Tai Chi stepping opens up
the ankles so does Tai Chi Sword open up the wrists.” Tai
Chi Sword studies build arm strength and develop internal
energy projection.
